Our Team – Nathan Johns

Nathan Johns, Vice President of Business Development, has responsibility for the management and growth of Pioneer’s franchise across the states of Kansas, Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana. He works with Pioneer’s existing customer base and new industries to facilitate access to the national rail network through Pioneer Lines, as an integral link in their supply chains. Mr. Johns is an integral member of Pioneer’s management team, leading strategic commercial activities, customer relationship development and organizational advancement across the network. Mr. Johns has more than eighteen years of short-line railroad experience, focused on new business development, organic customer growth and public/private infrastructure projects. Throughout his career, he has successfully implemented the delivery of large and small customer startup and expansion initiatives resulting in positive carload growth.

Mr. Johns earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois.
