Todd Marklin
Vice President of Engineering
Todd Marklin joined Pioneer Lines in March 2020 as the Vice President of Engineering. In this capacity, he has responsibility for Pioneer’s infrastructure, leading the maintenance and improvement of Pioneer’s tracks, bridges and crossings and oversees the design and construction of new projects.
Mr. Marklin is a seasoned rail industry expert, beginning his career over 20 years ago with CSX, a Class 1 carrier. He has served in various engineering and managerial roles throughout the south and southeast divisions for CSX, and later, Colorado-based OmniTRAX and South Carolina-based Palmetto Railways. Most recently, Mr. Marklin oversaw capital improvements throughout the Midwest region as Engineering Project Manager for Watco Companies.
Mr. Marklin’s rail experience also extends to the Federal Government, where he spent five years with the Federal Railroad Administration leading derailment investigative teams. His contributions resulted in significant reductions of track caused derailments and accidents throughout the country.
Mr. Marklin holds his Railroad Construction Project Management Certificate from the University of Wisconsin and is an active member of The American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA).
